Webelos (and Cub Scouting) has come to a close for us. As a den, we explored every one of the 20 Webelos activity badges during the 18 months we were Webelos (see history below). Several badges have additional requirements that must be done outside of our den meetings. At the January 2010 pack meeting, three of the scouts in our den received the Webelos Super Achiever award for completing all 20 Webelos activity badges. Every scout in our den (total 7 Webelos scouts) received the Arrow of Light award in February 2010. We also studied many of the requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class Boy Scout Ranks while we were Webelos. We were complimented by Scoutmasters at several camps as being more prepared for Boy Scouting than many of the boys they already have in their troops. We are very proud of this - it means we are "prepared." 2010 is the BSA's Centennial - we are very proud to be achieving so much during this special scouting year. |
February 24, 2010 - we will leave Cub Scouting and move on to our Boy Scout troops during our bridging ceremony, to be held at our Pack Meeting. All of our den's scouts will bridge to Boy Scouts. Three scouts will bridge to Troop 107 and the remaining four will bridge to Troop 54, both located in Corona, CA. A note from our den leader - January 8, 2010 Dear Wolverines, I could not be more proud of each of you. I have always had as my goal for each of you to "do your best" in Cub Scouting and to "be prepared" for Boy Scouting if you chose to join. This has been a five year journey and whether you have been with me for all five years, just for this last year, or somewhere in between, I will never forget you and I will miss our time together. It has been my privilege to work with you as your guide through Cub Scouting. Go forward now as leaders yourselves and never forget what you have learned. ~ Roxanne Miller, Den Leader, 2005-2010 |
